Web Design 101

Part I

Web Design 101 is the way in which say, the basics of Web Design or the fundamentals of Web Design.  If you make up 99% of the population that is unaware of “how” to create a website, finding the right web design company is basically fundamental.  First, you’ll need to Google web design companies online or talk with friends or family members if they know of someone that is reasonably priced and reliable.  Second, review their website carefully.  You should look for theme or style, colors and tone of the content.  If you don’t feel comfortable with what you see with their website, click the big red X at the top of the screen.  If you’re gut is telling you to stay away, then stay away.  Once you find the web design company that “feels” like they offer the best service, email or call them to get a quote. When you’re on the phone with them, ask them what platform they use.  The best platform I’ve found is WordPress.  It is complicated to those who are unfamiliar with it, but it doesn’t take long to become acquainted with their processes.  If you decide that you’d like try and service the site yourself in the future, choosing an easy to use platform work off of is critical.
